Working Put based on your Personality

Very very informative Article

Do you often feel that you just need always that extra kick in the ass to get yourself movin? Like almost each time you go exercising, is it always a little battle to get started..? Don’t worry, most of us have this issue at least sometimes! : )

IF you have it more than just sometimes, you want to read this post carefully..

You don’t need to keep the situation like that for long anymore as it may be that the lack of motivation you’ve had so far, or the lack of enthusiasm, can be because your personality and your current forms and ways of exercising don’t match perfectly. But they COULD match, and that match would produce the best results as it would keep you the most motivated exerciser ever.

So what’s your most controlling personality feature at the moment?

Morning person?

Night person?

Impulsive?

Social?

Coach potato?

Stressed?

Ambitious and busy?

Family person?

Peaceful?

Wild and adventurous?

Loving and needing lots of “me” time?

These are just some examples of features in one’s personality; most likely you will have more than one of these features in you. And there are also tons of other features not mentioned in here.

For now just choose something that describes you at this precise moment the MOST. If you need to have more than one, then choose more than one features that describe you the most AT THIS TIME.

We will focus on the above personality features and find out how you can motivate yourself to get up and get movin, based on each of the listed personality types.

Morning person

If you easily wake up early, and love waking up early and are most productive and energetic in the mornings – you can lengthen your day with yet about 1-2 hours and get even more out of the morning.

Go do your exercising always in the morning, or at least, as many times per week as you possibly can. This will make your mornings, and whole days, even better and you will feel yet more productive. Simply wake up an hour before you usually do and get movin! Go do early morning running or jogging in some empty parks, streets or forest paths. Or go for an early long walk with your dog. Or go to gym, cycling or swimming or whatever you want to do.

Morning persons also often like the feeling of competition. So come up with all kinds of challenges to yourself while exercising to keep your motivation on, for example create certain time, speed and endurance goals to spice up your workout. Maybe you want to have a goal of participating in half marathons twice a year or something.

Night person

Think it like this; it’s better late than never to go exercising! So if you have hard times to do your workouts at any time before late afternoon or evening, even late evening – then never mind about it! Do it when you have the best time of the day to do it, even if it’s evening! BUT don’t give up and quit exercising if it always goes late. Just do it late then.

Keep your motivation on by choosing the best times to exercise during late afternoon or evening. Forget about some warnings about too late exercising, as long as you can get started at least like 8PM-9PM, you’re good to go and not jeopardizing your sleep or anything.

For example gyms, group exercising and games, running, jogging, swimming etc are good forms to do in the evening. If your fitness club or gym is open late, like till 10PM or 11PM, take advantage of this and go there instead of watching tv all night long! If you have kids – how about doing your workout after they’ve gone sleeping. Or get some effective workout equipment to your home and do it there.

Impulsive

If you’re impulsive, effervescent persona, on top of your game, full of energy and drive, doing quick decisions and moves, then don’t think about if you have time for exercising or not – just do it at the most convenient time of the day.

An impulsive person is usually good at making quick moves and decisions and so you don’t need to think about doing your workouts for too much. You can just do it at whatever time happens to suit you in a short notice.

However, you should have a basic plan for your weekly workouts. Otherwise you may miss some workouts; so at least have a very basic plan of how many times per week you will do your workouts. Then stick to it.

Choose some forms of exercising you can do spontaneously whenever you have time like running or jogging, cycling, gyms and so on. You probably will also love fast exercises and sports like team sports. You could keep your workout clothes with you at work and wherever as you never know when you get a chance to go exercising. Also good workout equipment such as spinning bike or treadmill at home will help you do spontaneous tough exercising whenever. Or how about taking advantage of your way to work; in a beautiful day run or jog to the office little bit early, then shower and get ready there for the work day (if this is possible and you have showers there).

Social butterfly

All social butterflies out there who most of the time enjoy being around other people and friends…! Find a workout buddy; go exercising together with your friend/s! Just make sure you will do as tough exercising as possible instead of talking too much all the time. : )

However, remember that any exercising and moving is better than none. So if you happen to have compelling conversations sometimes and the workout efficiency suffers occasionally because of this, never mind about it! It’s equally important that you have fun and enjoyable time as then you can’t wait for the next time and will be able to motivate yourself a lot.

As a social person you should take your friend to a gym or fitness club, or running path or maybe mountain biking, or anything similar, instead of heading to the coffee shop. How about going to the coffee shop afterwards…?? It’s gonna be then really enjoyable and rewarding. It is also a good way to ensure you will stick to your exercising plans if you have a workout buddy; you don’t wanna be the one who always calls and makes changes to that plan. And, remember that any team and group exercising forms can be really enjoyable for you and you can get new friends there too.

Coach potato

Most of us are lazy coach potatoes every now and then – some of us little more often… For some of us, it has become a way of living. This can be more “lasting” mindset or seasonal too and related to any mental issues and stress and rush.

Many of us try to explain that we don’t have “time” to go exercising – I think all of us do this every now and then. Some of us all the time. Well, that IS 100% EXCUSE, and a ridiculous one. Also seriously unhealthy one. At any given day, you have 100% certainly time to do at least some exercising for even 10 or 15 minutes if not more. And most of the days during the week, you 100% certainly DO have time to go exercising more seriously at least for 1 hr. If it feels you don’t, it’s a matter of lack of motivation and planning.

If this is a serious issue and no self-motivation seems to help enough, the best idea to solve it is to get a personal trainer who will kick you in the ass if you have start get sloppy and lazy regarding your weekly/daily workout plan. A personal trainer will help you to create a perfect workout program as well as reach your fitness and weight goals.

If this is only a question of lack of motivation and time management, then how about for example getting some extra help at home like hire a baby sitter or a house cleaner, or, if you love dogs and have been planning on getting one then get it now and enjoy good daily exercising with your pet, or get a membership to an exclusive fitness club, choose any enjoyable and fun looking form of exercising you can think of and start doing it, get together with your friends and go exercising, or “trick” yourself exercising by switching any daily things to some form of exercising.

Clear timetables in exercising such as in any group exercising at fitness clubs, or personal trainer, good workout buddy, or any form of really fun exercising such dancing, aerobics, roller skating etc can be a perfect solution for you!

Other good idea is also to simply just switch any not-so-active things in your every-day life to their more active opposites; for example choose the stairs instead of elevator. If you happen to live in a tall building and on top floors, then there’s your perfect opportunity to build up your stamina and fitness levels and get slimmer; climb the stairs several times a day!

Stressed

Are you so busy at work at the moment that you feel like losing control of the time because feeling like having no time at all to anything else other than work – or are you otherwise in a stressful situation in your life? I know from personal experience that whichever is the situation, it can be tough to get yourself motivated in doing exercising.

BUT, think of exercising as a vital break from it all! See it as a vitally important break from any stressful situation that will help you get more control over your life and start feeling stronger, clearer and better. As that is what exercising in these kinds of situations truly is. You will only get to experience this liberating, good feeling once you are you are able to kick yourself in the ass and get to the gym or jogging path, cycling, mountain biking, swimming etc. But after you’ve gone there, you will experience this feeling and realize immediately that you made the right choice. Exercising in stressful, tough situation will help you start feeling better, looking better and get control of the situation.

You are probably used to plan things carefully and effectively and to the detail (as most likely you’re a perfection seeker at least at some extent), so use this great feature to your advantage also with exercising. As long as you just make the decision to start regular exercising, you are certainly able to create a workout plan equally effectively.

Choose forms of exercising that are a great balance to your stress; jogging, running, cycling etc in the nature, pilates, yoga, dancing, or 5 star fitness club membership and so on. You could also choose activities that are always at certain time, like group exercising in gyms or fitness clubs. Also exercising which takes you to a certain place like running or cycling is good, and exercising with a partner.

There are always ways to make room for exercising each day; any comment in contradiction to this is not true. For example how about making a weekly priority list and including exercising at the top? It certainly is a priority as it keeps you healthy. Put your exercising times also to your calendar in advance, plan whole week’s exercising like this. And stick to it! Or how about doing some of your works or studying at the gym while working out…? This can be easily done while using a spinning bike. Or, one of the most effective way is this; simply just run or cycle to your work place if that is possible, instead of taking a car always.

Ambitious, busy and full of motivation to succeed?

If you’re a busy and motivated business woman on top of your game or just busy and motivated person making your ambitious goals and dreams come true; don’t forget about exercising! Even if it seemed like you have currently no extra time to do it as your way too busy in building your success business or career day in and out.

You want to look and feel as good and most attractive possible when you reach the top and stay there!

Use your ambitious motivation and successful energy to get yourself exercising regularly each week, like bi-daily if not daily. Think about like this; you’re making your goals come true and going to succeed – so you wanna also look and feel your very best and most attractive and be healthy when you reach the top, and also all the way there.

In addition to this, exercising is also a form of relaxation and will give you very much needed break from your hectic days. It will help you relax, and get any stress levels down. At the same time it will keep you healthier and make you more toned, leaner and attractive!

Choose exercising forms that you absolutely love doing – as this will keep you motivated to find time for them from your daily schedules. Also keep them challenging enough. Set high enough fitness and weight goals and do really effective, intensive workouts. You most likely enjoy more intensive and demanding forms of exercising, both in cardio and gym exercising, at least a couple of times per week. Then for the rest of days, you could choose some more relaxing forms like yoga or pilates or peaceful jogging.

Family person?

Think about it like this; have some quality me-time for a change every once in the while as that gives you more energy, keeps you healthy and fit, helps you get slimmer and more toned and also helps you stay in control of yourself! So it is NOT wasted time and you do NOT under any circumstances need to feel guilty because of having some me-time and going exercising by yourself or with your friends. Exercising does take some time from your life, BUT it keeps you healthy and happier parent – so arrange time for effective exercising at least couple of times per week.

You have plenty of exercising buddies right there at your home too. You can do plenty of activities with your kids and together as a whole family. Or how about trying some parent-kid sports groups at any sports clubs? One of the easiest ways of doing exercising when you have small kids is also going to a well-equipped gym or fitness club where there are baby sitters and room for kids too. You can leave kids there for an hour or two and go exercising. Also any exercising that can involve your kids or flexible exercising that can be easily done at any time of the day can be good choices for you.

You can get creative too… How about forming some personal “sports club” with your friends’ families? How about jogging instead of walking when out with baby strollers? How about going jogging or running together with your kids? How about getting simply a baby sitter and then going exercising?

Peaceful?

If you’re more the quiet and peaceful type and don’t like about hassle that much – there’s still so many forms of exercising for you to try! If you don’t want intensive, super tough workouts, then do the peaceful ones that still are proven to bring you excellent fitness results.

There are for example pilates and yoga and their many variations, as well as dancing, walking, peaceful cycling and swimming in the lake, river or ocean…

There’s no need to stop exercising or stay on the coach and get unmotivated, because of thinking that the quieter, more peaceful forms of workout wouldn’t bring you any results anyway so you just quit doing it all together. If you don’t want to do intensive and tough workouts, then stick with the more peaceful ones! It’s that easy. For example all the above listed examples are still very effective and very relaxing forms of workout and will develop your body, make it more toned and help you get leaner. In fact with pilates and yoga alone, you’re able to develop some truly sexy muscles and body shape! (If done correctly in professional lessons.)

Wild and adventurous?

You need adventurous sports and exercising and some wild challenges! Don’t bore yourself with regular exercising options everybody else does everywhere; instead try extreme sports and some adventurous exercising in middle of nature. Also you most likely enjoy tough and intensive sports too that really challenges you and makes you almost “half dead” because being so tough. This is the way to keep yourself motivated. You can form your weekly workout program solely from these types sports. Then you can add in some special treats every once in the while, like extreme active travelling to some faraway exotic, wild places…

For example mountain biking, marathons (you need start training for half or whole marathon about 6 months before!), hiking, mountain climbing, all kinds of “super woman” competitions that require lots of hard training before participating and which happen outdoors and include various of different sports, long cycling trips we’re talking about those that can take days, and so on…

You will probably also like the idea of extreme sports and exotic travelling mixed together. There are plenty of 5-star travelling agencies that offer active extreme travelling to most exotic locations in the world, to wilderness, safaris, jungle, desert, ancient places, you name it…. You can add in luxury if you want, or then you can go really extreme and go camping while in your extreme trip abroad. Your trip will include some truly challenging and adventurous activities in middle of most gorgeous, wild locations in the world, such as hiking, mountain climbing, mountain biking, canoeing, cycling and so on.
